Alamo Square

Alamo Square is home to some of San Francisco’s most famous, frequently photographed residents—the Painted Ladies, a row of colorful Victorians and Edwardians. But plenty of regular folk also call the neighborhood home. Both long-time and new residents love Alamo Square’s central location off of Divisadero Street and high walkability. Thriving shops, pubs and award-winning restaurants line the streets, along with quintessential Victorian and Edwardian homes. Downtown is a straight shot from either Hayes or Oak Street, via car or public transportation.
